    Responsibilities

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The Southwest Airlines’ Corporate Sales internship spans across two different functions within the team. The intern(s) selected will work fulltime as a Team Member within one of the following areas:

     

    Direct Sales

     

    The Direct Sales Team leads direct selling strategy and tactics for Corporate Sales. This Team acquires, manages, and grows corporate travel portfolios as well as assesses opportunities, evaluates account performance, and provides data insights to account managers. Duties and responsibilities include:

     

    • Research sales leads and mine data up to and including cold calls and tertiary account interaction.
    • Create and maintain relationships with corporate accounts beginning with an initial cold call
    • Generating pipeline walking Customers through the qualification and proposal stages
    • Provide Customer Support to Corporate Sales Team and Customers by responding to and managing sales inquiries.
    • Participate in ad hoc sales projects, promotions, and planning.
    • Manage the day-to-day implementation of the Meetings program
    • Research and aggregate insights for sales meeting preparation and execution 

    Ops

     

    The Sales Operations Team leads all sales enablement initiatives while focusing on people, processes, and tools. This team delivers critical technology capabilities, drives internal partnerships for cross-functional initiatives, and creates and enables other sales support initiatives. Duties and responsibilities include:

     

    • Help coordinate Corporate Sales events, up to and including on site corporate tabling events, trade shows, and forums
    • Create and distribute communications and collateral to Corporate Sales Team and Customers.
    • Provide Customer Support to Corporate Sales Team and Customers by responding to and managing Customer and sales inquiries.
    • Participate in ad hoc sales projects, promotions, and planning.

    Qualifications

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.

     

    Must be at least 18 years of age.

     

    Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

     

    EDUCATION:

     

    Progress towards degree in Professional Sales, Marketing, Business or related degree.

     

    Minimum junior level.

     

    To be eligible must be currently enrolled as a full time student (minimum 12 credit hours).

     

    Maintained 3.5 or above cumulative GPA.

     

    EXPERIENCE:

     

    Event management, local marketing, or customer engagement experience preferred.

     

    Sales experience/interest is preferred.

     

    Previous Customer Support experience preferred.

     

    Proficient with Microsoft Suite functions preferred.

     

    Experience using Salesforce preferred.

     

    SKILLS/ABILITIES/KNOWLEDGE/WORK STYLE:

     

    Professional written and verbal communication skills, and ability to speak publically before an audience.

     

    Ability to work independently and the willingness to function as a part of a team.

     

    Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and complete assignments with tight deadlines.

     

    Must be detailed oriented and able to work with a sense of urgency.

     

    Must maintain a professional appearance and attitude.

    TIME COMMITMENT:

     

    Full time - 40 hours per week (Monday – Friday).

     

    PAY:

     

    $15.00 hourly + flight privileges
