Responsibilities

DESCRIPTION:

 

The Network Operations Control (NOC) Compliance Team focused on work experiences related to airline certification and regulatory compliance management processes. This role may also include work related to NOC Training, Standards, Safety Assurance, Procedures, and Daily Operations. Additionally, this intern position has exposure to corporate-wide certification and regulatory compliance activities and includes interaction with other Operating Departments.

 

The Network Operations Control (NOC) Compliance intern position offers a unique opportunity for candidates pursuing Pilot or Aircraft Dispatcher careers. The role works directly with Pilot and Aircraft Dispatch management in Southwest Airlines industry-leading operations center.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist with projects, research, technology development, presentations and meetings that support the role of the NOC Compliance Team.

 

Assist with coordination, organization and administrative duties for the NOC Compliance Team.

 

May be asked to assist and support other departmental activities including: Training, Standards, Safety Assurance, Procedures, and Daily Operations.

 

May be asked to assist and support other Company-wide initiatives and programs.

 

Must adhere to all Southwest Airlines Company policies including the protection and security of confidential and proprietary information.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

 

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.

 

Must be at least 18 years of age.

 

Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

 

EDUCATION:

 

Progress towards a degree in Aviation, Aeronautics, Aeronautical Engineering, or related program required.

 

Coursework in Aviation Management or Computer Science preferred.

 

Minimum junior level.

 

To be eligible must be currently enrolled as a full time student (minimum 12 credit hours).

 

Maintained 2.75 or above cumulative GPA.

 

EXPERIENCE:

 

Aviation related job experience preferred.

 

Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications.

 

Microsoft Excel expertise required including pivot tables and proficiency querying and analyzing data.

 

Other Technology programming skills preferred.

 

Participation in trade/industry organizations, community involvement, and/or school clubs preferred.

 

SKILLS/ABILITIES/KNOWLEDGE/WORK STYLE:

 

Excellent oral and written communication skills required.

 

Excellent analytical and organizational skills required.

 

Ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines and work well under pressure.

 

FAA Airman Certificates and Ratings highly preferred (Dispatcher or Pilot).

PAY:

 

$15.00 hourly + flight privileges
