Responsibilities

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

The Business Continuity Team works in conjunction with the Emergency Reponse team to make up  Southwest Airline’s overall Preparedness function. The Business ContinuityTeam works with business and technology groups across the enterprise to plan and prepare for the continuation of critical business activities in the event of a major disruption.

 

Assist with planning and execution of  analyzing business functions to determine recovery timeframes and needs.

 

Assist with writing and/or updating Business Recovery Plans.

 

Assist with planning and execution of exercises and/or walkthroughs.

 

Assist with planning and execution of testing at a remote and/or mobile facility.

 

Participate in meetings with Internal Customers and assist with documentation.

 

Assist with maintenance of online file sharing application and business continuity planning software.

 

Administrative duties may include making photocopies, scheduling meetings, capturing meeting notes, etc.

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

 

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent education required.

 

Must be at least 18 years of age.

 

Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

 

EDUCATION:

 

Progress towards degree in Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Emergency Management, Aviation Management, Business Administration, or business related degree required.

 

Minimum junior level.

 

To be eligible must be currently enrolled as a full-time student (minimum 12 credit hours).

 

Maintained 2.75 or above cumulative GPA.

 

SKILLS/ABILITIES/KNOWLEDGE/WORK STYLE:

 

Classroom and/or industry experience performing analysis preferred.

 

Strong written communication skills required.

 

Excellent organizational skills.

 

Ability to work independently and willingness to function as part of a Team.

 

Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred. 

 

Business Continuity knowledge preferred.

TIME COMMITMENT:

PAY:

 

$15.00 per hour + flight privileges
